I am a mixed media painter who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. I have studied art at both the college level and continuing education classes and have sold my work off and on for the last twenty years. Off - because I have been focused on raising two awesome kids- who are about to leave the nest - so it’s been mostly local small shows, private commissions, and festivals for the last 15 years.
With a new chapter on the horizon and now that my children are about to be launched, I have picked up the paint brushes and started working again on creating art full time. I call my studio 3rd quarter because I’m in the third quarter and it’s time to start going for it and quit waiting around for everything to be perfect. Let’s do this!
I am inspired by color, patterns and texture and I enjoy using a variety of found materials such as fragments from vintage books, maps, papers and letters to create a layered background to my pieces. The subject matter varies from a simple still life to complex cityscapes all while incorporating the the layered background which often helps tell the story of the imagery above.
