Words from the Artist:

This piece was a challenge for me. The final layer you see to your left marks roughly the 20th layer of paint that this canvas had to endure. Even though much of what I initially put on the canvas was eventually covered up, I believe the viewer can feel the depth and energy of the hidden layers radiating from beneath the surface. I fell in love with the haphazard markings at the bottom of the dress and the overall diversity of their texture and style. The racing scribbles, the neon dribbles of paint, the smeared neutral paint with oil crayon smudged on top all complement each other in their differences.
