The After Party

Acrylic, Oil Pastel, Graphite

24 x 30

This painting was the first piece I did in this series that was not in a square composition as well as doing a completely new scene. I wanted to focus on the color palette and line work of this. My favorite part of the piece is the shape of the woman’s arm holding her champagne glass. I wanted the shape of her bent arm and torso to suggest a crowded room that these two are squeezed into together. I tried to create the busy, loud and crowded scene around these two through their body language.
