Tennessee Spring

650
"Tennessee Spring" is inspired by a walk through Kerr Farm, a private home and farm here in East Tennessee. I was there painting en plein air with a group of artists, and our host was gracious enough to take us on a hike over the rolling hills of his beautiful property. It was a gorgeous April day, and the clouds were showing off in formation to highlight the landscape. I loved the juxtaposition of the lush green trees with the hollow stump left behind, gnarly and bleached from the sun... a lovely sculpture in the field. I am always drawn in by combinations of purple and green, and was thrilled to see a little lavender in the foreground field. I took a picture, and painted this particular scene months later in my studio.

"Tennessee Spring" comes framed in a solid wood, gallery-grade gold leaf frame that adds approximately 3" on each side.
