Although the subject of my work often changes, experimentation with color is the cornerstone of every painting. While color can elicit a range of emotions, I choose to use color to evoke joy in my work. In addition to color interactions, this collection of paintings explores the contrast of line and form. By combining flat pattern with dimensional objects, the canvas creates a space in which these contrasting elements harmonize. Gestural brushwork is intertwined with lineation, creating layers of color, order, and expression.
