About Claire Loft:

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Claire grew up watching her father paint and from this, felt a fervent desire to create as a child. It was her first studio painting class at Louisiana Tech University where Claire fell in love with the process of painting. Since then, she continues to explore and discover new ways to improve her style.

Along with painting, Claire is currently a high school art teacher at St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. She has taught all levels- Early childhood, elementary, middle school and again, is currently teaching high school. After 27 years, teaching continues to give her immense joy.  “I treasure fostering the adolescent mind into loving the process of creating art.”

Claire was selected as a Featured Artist for the Bering Financial Group in March, 2022. Her works were displayed and sold throughout the month.  She was selected as an Emerging Artist in October of 2022 for the Scouted Studio and was also interviewed on the Scouted Studio Podcast in November. She also was a featured artist for the Inaugural Shuck Cancer Houston Event in November at Silver Street Studios. Claire recently has been selected as a 2023 Escapist Artist for the John Ross Palmer Art Launch mentoring program.

Claire is best known for her oyster paintings but has expanded her collections to include various botanicals and abstract compositions. She loves playing with bright colors, bold lines and a mixture of textures and painting techniques.
