Anna Tork is a mixed media painter based in Brooklyn. Her self study of art began in 2017, when she moved and had a difficult time finding affordable original works of art. She started by creating works for herself and her space. Once the pandemic hit New York, she returned to artwork but with a different intention. Her work became a mediation away from the chaos and physical lockdown of the city. When she painted, she realized that the world grew quiet and she could take the thoughts one by one. Her work combines layers, white space, colors and lines into compositions that transport oneself to a calming scene or memory. Although the paintings vary in theme and method, each piece has a common thread of exploring the way water and light interact. Anna works with a range of mediums. but largely focuses on acrylics and pastels. Now with three collections behind her, she has become a commercial artist, but still has the original intention of bringing affordable, calming and beautiful artwork to your home.
