Christina Spencer
Christina's works center on the grounding traditions and beauty in nature surrounding her southern upbringing in North Carolina and formative background and degree in art and interior design. Her works come from a faith based center and focus on studies of abstracted florals, sunset and cloud scapes, and landscape scenes in watercolor and mixed media on canvas and paper. She also practices abstract color studies and figure studies derived and inspired from the palettes of her other works. Christina's paintings are built in layers of impressionist brushstrokes and distinctive watermarks with a focus on rendering the tension of the motion caught in a captured moment and the complex interactions of light with delicate color washes. The subjects are intentionally abstracted in a way that feels current yet timelessly engaging with a hope to convey an ethereal peacefulness in their translation.
