At the close of winter here in Central Virginia, daffodils inevitably emerge as the harbingers of sunny days to come. The glimpse of slender green stalks beginning to push through the ground always invites me to lift my thoughts to the hope of spring, both literal and metaphorical. Daffodils are relentless. They can survive late snow, frigid cold, neglect, and almost every obstacle that nature or humans can give them. Despite it all, they return every year as a symbol of renewal.

This collection celebrates the tenacity of daffodils and the glorious hope of new beginnings that they represent. Often popping up in the most unexpected places, the luminous blooms of daffodils encourage us to take heart in the promise that all things will be made new. No matter how dark the winter, the light will always triumph!

These paintings seek to capture the immediacy and pleasure of seeing daffodil blooms on an early spring day. Individually, these pieces would brighten up any room, but they would also make a stunning statement as a group on a shelf or gallery wall. My hope is that these pieces will light up your space and become as much a perennial source of joy as their living inspiration.
