Katie White's inspiration as an artist comes from the courage of her former elementary art students. Katie learned so much from their creativity when she would encourage them to “take a risk, don’t worry about the outcome” because “art is about the process, not the end product . . . it is the gateway to problem-solving.“

Katie White's objective is to evoke emotion, perhaps spark a memory or bring tranquility to a space. Many of Katie's pieces include a reflection or horizon line because she is drawn to the place where land and water meet the sky. It reminds her of how important it is to be grounded in the world we live in today.
