Art has always evoked joy for Nan. Thriving in a creative environment, her technique focuses on palette knives, mainly, and plenty of paint to achieve the deep textures that typify her work. Nan tends to approach a blank canvas with little expectation or “plan”. She typically likes to start with a limited palette and incorporate new colors as she goes. She loves to create pieces using unexpected color palettes and is drawn to the mix of graphic and chaotic elements. She is continually inspired by the ever-changing beauty of nature, especially the sky! Nan says her work is a “joyful journey that’s instinctive and continuously evolving”. Nan and her husband, daughter, and son call Raleigh, NC home.
