About Rushton Waltchack:

Rushton Waltchack is a self-taught abstract artist from Birmingham, Alabama. She specializes in alcohol ink. Rushton comes from a long line of artists going back to her great-great-great grandmother. She has spent the majority of her adult life raising her six children but she began investing more time in her art career in 2018.

Rushton finds inspiration in the beauty of nature. She was drawn to the vibrancy of alcohol ink and loves experimenting to expand the possibilities with her inks. Rushton has always looked for the beauty amid the chaos of life which has translated into a love for creating abstract pieces of art. She is particularly known for her whimsical flowers and butterfly collages. Rushton’s love and excitement for life are reflected by her bold choices in color and her unique abstract style.

Rushton’s work was featured for 3 years at The Art Gallery at the Grand Bohemian (A Kessler Collection Gallery) in Mountain Brook, Alabama. She recently moved to Tricia’s Treasures in Homewood. She can also be found at the The Gallery by Andiamo Lodge in Mentone, Alabama and online @Rushton_Art
