Watercolor and India Ink on Layered Heavyweight Archival Fine Art Paper
One of my favorite places along the gulf coast is the Bolivar Peninsula - a Texas gem known for its expansive beaches and excellent fishing. This piece is inspired by the pelicans I see hovering around Delino's Bolivar Yacht Basic Bait Camp on Boyt Road, where we stop to pick up live shrimp before a day out on the water. To me, these large yet graceful birds embody the quiet beauty and simplicity of the coast. I have float mounted him on a separate sheet of hand-painted, hand-cut fine art paper which gives the piece a unique, dimensional presentation.
