One afternoon in late October, I was struck by the subtle color variations in some ornamental grasses in a neighbor’s yard. The way that the soft tones of the grasses undulated in the breeze transformed what had been a previously unremarkable piece of landscaping into a source of understated beauty. Autumn has a way of turning everything golden! This painting captures that transformative effect and shows the energetic movement, range of color, and delicacy of the grass brought to life by the October sun.
