Perenial No. 4

The Perennial Collection features six original floral paintings created to bring color, pattern, and personality to a room. Each painting stands on its own, but I designed this collection with pairing in mind—two together make an especially lovely statement in an entry, bedroom, powder room, kitchen, or gallery wall.

Each painting is actually two layers of canvas paper fused together. 

For the underlayer, I loaded paint onto a traditional hand-carved Indian woodblock and pressed it directly onto the surface. Because each pattern is printed by hand, no two impressions are exactly alike, giving every painting its own subtly unique background. For the top layer, I painted florals in fresh green or soft blue, then added touches of oil pastel for texture and dimension.

The combination of pattern, layered materials, and loose floral forms gives each painting its own character, with subtle details that become more noticeable up close.

Each painting is carefully sealed with a protective finish for lasting beauty. I hope you find one that speaks to you.
