This painting was inspired by Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during a season when our family was there waiting for our daughter, Kit, to receive her bone marrow transplant.
The beauty of that fall—the blue sky, golden trees, and warm light—stood in such contrast to the uncertainty we were carrying. Looking back, I see how the Lord used that season to teach me that faith is not a force; faith is trust. Trusting Him no matter the outcome. Trusting that He is good when I understand, and when I don't.
These paintings carry the beauty I remember from that season, but also the hope I've learned to hold differently—a hope that isn't dependent on what I can see.
“If we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” — Romans 8:25
